Solar Inverter

Solar inverters are an essential part of a solar power plant, they convert the direct current (DC) generated by the solar panels into alternating current (AC). In general, there are 2 types of solar inverters, off grid and on grid. Off grid solar inverters are used separately from the grid in small-scale as island power plants and at low powers.

On grid solar inverters connected to the grid are made in two types, central and string topology. String inverters are used in low-power applications that require the installation of several strings of solar arrays, and provide the possibility of providing better efficiency in absorbing solar energy and producing electrical energy in shadow and cloudy conditions.

Central inverters are used in high power applications and mainly in high power solar power plants. By reducing one stage of power conversion (power converter), these inverters can save money and are a more economical option. Especially in high power plants, this structure is offered as the best option.

Usage:

  • Solar power plants separated from the household and industrial (island) grid
  • Solar power plants connected to the low power grid to supply a small part of the power grid demand
  • Solar power plants connected to the high power grid to supply a large part of the power grid demand
